What’s been the hardest part of parenting older teens or empty nesting for you?

(If you could design the next decade, what would you most want to create for yourself?)

I have three older teens, ages 19, 17, and 15. One in college, one high school senior, and one sophomore.

I don’t post photos of my life with older teens out of respect for their privacy, but let’s just say everything has dramatically shifted in the last 10 years.

My kids now tower over me physically. They drive themselves (mainly) and make their own plans. They’re busy with school, extracurriculars, and their own lives.

It’s been a beautiful, exciting, and sometimes heartbreaking experience to have them pull away & become almost fully independent.

Since 2020 I’ve been sharing my story on Instagram while also coaching midlife Moms like me. I create content that reflects the realities I face of parenting, letting go, and trying to rediscover who I am as an aging Mom with an emptying nest.

I also host The Infinite Capacity Podcast.

Over time I’ve built up a loyal client base and a large online following - over 60,000 and growing.

I coach Moms navigating this same stage of life, trying to reinvent themselves while adjusting to big changes at home.

Where are you at in YOUR journey and reinvention process? What do you want to create NOW?

Listen Now: Why I Coach

My coaching style is compassionate, loving, and direct. My clients and I laugh a lot together, and I will also hold space for your hard days, tears & struggles.

Reinventing yourself after years of parenting is not easy but it’s also exciting and worthwhile. I help ease that process for the Moms I work with, listening deeply and helping them uncover what they really want to create now that all of our kids are growing and leaving the nest.

You’ll benefit from my 25+ years of experience, training (Stanford University, University of San Diego, UCSD, The Life Coach School, plus ADHD Coach ICF Certification - in process), 22-year relationship & nearly 2 decades of motherhood.

 Outstanding Results

You’re likely to get outstanding results as you move forward creating your new chapter or “Next Nest.”

My clients have:

  • Revitalized relationships with longtime partners

  • Landed dream jobs

  • Returned to graduate school

  • Bought their own homes

  • Moved to new cities (and sometimes, new countries!)

  • Improved their communication with significant people in their lives

  • Developed healthier relationships with in-laws, siblings and other relatives

  • Started new businesses of their own

  • Enhanced their own physical health and well-being

  • Felt happier, more motivated and ‘unstuck’

  • Balanced their energy inputs and outputs to have more emotional ‘fuel’ to get through the day

  • Increased their confidence and taken healthy risks

  • Changed their old patterns - permanently

Each Mom and her journey is totally unique. We will co-create a plan that is specifically for you.

Coaching? How It Works

We’ll meet online, weekly or twice/month.

You’ll have an honest, direct coach who holds space for you with lots of compassion and zero judgment.

We’ll dig deep into questions that help you explore what you’re looking to create next. We’ll individualize our work around your unique goals.

You get to decide what kind of pacing works best for you. Some Moms arrive ready to take a ton of action & prefer weekly homework and lots of accountability.

Others prefer a slow and steady transformation with consistent support and a laid-back pace. That works really beautifully too! There is no ‘wrong way’ to create your next chapter, but it helps to have an experienced co-pilot.

#whatcomesnext?

You are not alone.

Society tells Moms to “let go” of the people who matter most to us; let go of the project we’ve put our heart and soul into for decades.

So, we put photos on Facebook of our kids leaving for college (all smiles) and then confess in our journals about what a mess our lives are; how sad, exhausted, lonely, and empty we feel.

We write about wanting to figure out what comes next, but not knowing where to start.

Moms of older teens don’t always talk to each other (or the world) about this stuff.

We feel embarrassed and ashamed, and we try to put on a good front.

Over the last 5 years, I’ve heard from thousands of midlife Moms all over the world. The truth is that we are all feeling these things, and just need to talk about it more with someone we can trust.

It’s time to lean into the future, and maybe even create a plan.

Having an experienced co-pilot really helps with that.

Commonly Expressed By Moms BEFORE we begin working together:

  • “My life has changed so much in just a few years.”

  • “There is an emptiness now that motherhood used to fill.”

  • “This stage of life is lonely.”

  • “I feel like I don’t even know my partner anymore.”

  • “I’m tired of feeling stuck, I want to do something new.”

  • “Perimenopause / Menopause is really kicking my butt.”

  • “I feel like I don’t know who I am anymore.”

What Moms say AFTER working with me:

  • “Honestly, it was way more helpful than the many years of therapy I had done in the past.”

  • “She’s committed, smart, inspiring, and pragmatic. You won’t regret working with her!”

  • “I worked with Andrea for the past year and I can’t speak highly enough of her coaching! I grew as a person as a result of our time together.”
